2026 Ahtna Territory Region-Specific Regulations

Harvest area: GMUs 11, 12, and 13.

Eligible communities: Gulkana, Chitina, Tazlina, Copper Center, Gakona, Mentasta Lake, Chistochina, and Cantwell.

  • Season: April 2-June 14 and July 16-August 31 (hunting). May 1-June 14 (egg gathering).

  • Closure: June 15–July 15.

    *Residents of Cantwell may hunt in both the Interior Region and in harvest areas for the Ahtna Territory.

    ** Regulations are not final until the publication of a Final Rule in the Federal Register.
